It’s not possible for a world to emerge where black lives matter if it’s under capitalism. And it’s not possible to abolish capitalism without a struggle against national oppression and gender oppression
Patrisse Cullors said in a 2015 interview:
Myself and Alicia [Garza] in particular are trained organizers. We are trained Marxists. We are super-versed on, sort of, ideological theories.
Opal Tometi tweeted in 2015:
Currently in Venezuela. Such a relief to be in a place where there is intelligent political discourse.
A few months later, Tometi wrote:

So Ms. Tometi is a big fan of that socialist utopia where unicorns poop out rainbow Skittles, Venezuela.
And a Chinese organization with communist party ties funds a Black Lives Matter-related venture.
New connections between BLM and communism are being uncovered all of the time.
Postscript: Protecting innocent people against murder is a good thing. Spreading communism is something else entirely …
